Who: Sword, Sen, Lacey
When: During their extended visit
Where: Family room
What:Sen is an emo little bitch They play at happy families
Rating: PG-13 maybe a little higher for their potty mouths!
A Guard made his way to Sen's cell. "Owari." He said with a stern voice, "Let's go."
Sen had just settled on the bottom bunk with a stack of books. With Sword being gone to see Lacey, it would be pretty lonely, but he intended to use the time to catch up on some missed reading. He frowned at the voice, looking up at the guard. "Go? Go where?"
"Solitary. Let's go."
Sen pushed himself to his feet, wincing a little, before walking to the cell door. "Solitary? But I haven't done anything wrong!"
The guard shrugged, "I was just told to come and get you. So let's go."
He frowned and stepped out of the cell. "Okay. But none of that handcuffs or tazer crap, I can walk without them."
"Don't try to make a run for it and I won't have to use them." He said and made sure Sen walked in front of him. When the reached the solitary hallway, Sen was passed of to another guard. The guard began leading Sen towards, the visiting room though.
Sen stopped walking, folding his arms across his chest. "This is the wrong way." And he should know, he'd spent enough time in Solitary to know the way.
"No it's not. Mutou said he wanted you in one of the visiting rooms. I can't imagine why," He shrugged, "I just follow orders."
Sen frowned and followed the guard, arms still folded across his chest. The slime ball Mutou better not be planning on touching him, not without Sword there to keep things in line.
The guard opened the door and let Sen inside, closing it and walking away. "Daddy Sen!" A small voice erupted and Sen was suddenly pounced by a similar 7 year old. Sword emerged from the kitchen, "Hey." He smiled, "I was just about to make some of that Pasta I've been bragging about."
Now that! Wasn't what Sen was expecting at all. He'd expected to be shoved into a dark room and have those slimy, filthy hands on his body. He smiled, and wrapped his arms around Lacey, resting her at his hip, ignoring the pain in his ribs. "Hello there, Princess." He smiled at Sword. "You. Planned this whole thing, didn't you?"
"No. You can thank Mutou for this." He shrugged, "I know it's weird. But he agreed to let us both visit with Lacey for a week."
Sen frowned a little. "He must want something. Kindness isn't exactly his strong point." He carefully set Lacey back on the ground and moved in to kiss Sword's cheek.
"I'd rather not think about it right now." He shook his head, "So. We have an entire week of luxury. As I said, I was just making dinner and then Lacey and I were going to watch a movie."
"Something with fluffy, singing, dancing animals, I hope. And popcorn too." He replied, smiling soft.
Sword rolled his eyes, "And disgustingly cute!"
Sen chuckled. "Oh, I bet you enjoy it more than any of us."
Lacey disappeared, returning moments later with the oversized stuffed dog Sword had given her before. "Look, Daddy Sen. This is Bob! He is the BEST doggie ever."
Sen crouched down do he was at Lacey's level, smiling, petting the stuffed toy. "Well, hello there, Bob. Aren't you cute? You better look after my little princess!"
Sword had been debating something, chewing on his bottom lip. "Lacey. Why don't you go watch TV. I need to talk to Sen for a moment."
Lacey nodded and hugged the dog to her chest, skipping off to turn the TV on, sitting up on the sofa. Sen stood, moving over to close the door to so Lacey couldn't hear. "What is it?"
Sword sighed, "I was thinking of telling you this after the week was up. But I can't not tell you. But I'm afraid it'll ruin the entire week. so you choose. Now or later?"
Sen frowned. "Sword. You're not making any sense. But you can't say something like that and not expect me to be curious. So, now, I guess."
"You know this morning when I was taken away by the guard? He handed me the document that said to come to one of these rooms? And I told you I'd see you in four days?"
Sen nodded, leaning against the kitchen counter. "Yeah? What about it?"
"Well, when I got here Lacey wasn't here yet." He was silent for a long moment, "Mutou was."
Sen kept his eyes on the floor, and nodded. "Go on?"
"He wanted to have another go. And I panicked. I accidentally told him that it wasn't me last time."
Sen continued to keep his eyes fixed on the floor, half tempted to interrupt with some 'told you so' bit about using Kain for their dirty work, but didn't. "And?"
"He told me that this would be my last visit with Lacey. That I'd only have contact woth her in the usual way, letters, phone calls. Basically telling me I'd never see her again. And I panicked again. And......"
Sen gritted his teeth. "And?"
Sword took a deep breath, "I........ slept with him....."
Sen swallowed hard, continuing to stare at the floor. He folded his arms across his chest, silent for a long moment. "Who fucked who?"
"Does it matter?"
"Who. Fucked. Who?" He repeated, still not looking at Sword.
Sword sighed, "I fucked him...." He said truthfully. Well, he had. Of course it had been after Mutou fucked him, but he could Sen that later, couldn't he?
Sen pushed himself off the counter, moving to open the closed door, walking over to the sofa to sit by Lacey.
Sword didn't know what to do. Had he just screwed things up royally? But then again, how could he have? Didn't Sen want him to slept with Mutou in the first place?
Lacey snuggled into Sen's side, explaining to him who all the characters were on the TV. Sen smiled and nodded, listening to the girl speak. He felt sick to his stomach, but he couldn't start a fight, not here, not in front of Lacey. The girl stopped talking and petted Sen's hair. "You cut it shorter."
Sen nodded. "Yeah, I had a booboo on my head, and so I had to cut some of my hair off. But it’s better now."
Sword finished making dinner. It smelled great. too bad he had lost his appetite. He filled two plates and put them on the table and then got drinks, "Dinner's ready." He said sticking his head out.
Sen got up, switching the TV off, before giving Lacey his hand, walking her into the kitchen. "Come on Lacey, let's wash our hands." He pulled one of the chairs over and turned on the water, squirting a little liquid soap onto the girl's hand and a little onto his own, washing his hands while watching to make sure Lacey washed hers too. He reached for the towel and patted her hands dry. He lifted her off the chair and moved to the table. "Looks good."
Sword nodded, "I'm gonna be in the shower if you need me." He said and began to move out of the room.
"You're not eating with us?" Sen asked, helping Lacey into her chair, before sitting himself down. "I thought it would be nice to eat as a family..."
Sword sighed and served him self a plate, "Alright." He said and set the plate down across from Sen, Lacey sitting between them.
Lacey poked at the spaghetti pasta, trying to get it on her fork, failing miserably. Sen smiled warmly, leaning across to show her an easy trick, using a spoon to help curl it. "There, now try." The girl tried again, using the spoon to aid as Sen had shown her, before taking a mouthful. "Yay! I curled s'getti!!"
Sword smiled, "That you did." He still hadn't eaten any of his own, though he drank from his glass of water.
Sen poked at his own, before eating a mouthful. He should be happy, right? Here he was, with a family, sharing a meal, yet he just felt, numb. He glanced up at sword, before back at his own plate. "Your dinner's going cold, Sword."
"I'm not really hungry." He said simply, taking another drink of his water. Looking at his water, he had a better idea. Getting up he went into the fridge and got one of the beer that was in there. Cracking it open he drank from the bottle.
"You shouldn't drink on an empty stomach." Sen said, taking another bite of the delicious pasta. Lacey ate happily, making a mess all over her hands and face, pasta sauce flicking across the table.
Sword picked up a piece of bread and bit off a piece. He chewed it and swallowed it. Give Sen a 'there.' smile, before drinking from the bottle again.
Sen pushed his plate aside and stood, moving away from the table. "Excuse me." He gave Sword a kind of 'grow up' stare, before heading towards the bathroom.
"I thought you wanted to eat as a family!" Sword called after him.
Sen gritted his teeth, stopping mid step. "I am going to the little men's room, if you must know!"
"Whatever...."
Sen went into the bathroom, filling the wash basin with cold water, dunking his uncast hand into it before splashing his face, trying to cool his anger down.
Lacey finished her plateful and gulped down her water, looking like a sticky mucky pup. "Daddy makes the best pasta."
"I'm glad someone thinks so."
Sen lifted his head to stare into the mirror, staring at his reflection. He let out a heavy sigh, before letting the water go and drying his face. He flushed the toilet, even though he hadn't actually used it and grabbed a wash cloth. He returned to the table and began wiping Lacey sticky fingers and cheeks.
Sword had finish his beer and got up to grab another one, cracking that one open and taking a drink.
Lacey looked at Sword and then to Sen before back at sword again. "May I be excused from the table now?"
Sword nodded, "Yeah. Go play."
She smiled bright and climbed down from the table, before heading off to play with the bag of toys she had brought with her. Sen once more picked up his fork to tackle his meal again.
Sword emptied his second bottle and went back for his third, drinking from that now.
Sen sighed. "Don't you think Lacey sees enough drunks at home, without having to see her father become one?"
"Don't tell me what to do. Besides, I can handle my alcohol."
"Oh? And when was the last time you drank a lot? Things change, Sword. Your body forgets how to handle alcohol."
"Why the hell are you being such a bitch? I only did what you wanted me to."
Keep your voice down, will you!"
"Don't change the subject." He said, but he lowered his voice.
"And for the record. No. You didn't do what I wanted, but then, you didn't stick around to hear the whole of my plan, did you? And I don't believe Mutou had you in a position like that, when he could break all ties with your daughter just for your cock. I don't think you fucked him, I think it was the other way around."
Sword looked enraged, "Why the hell do you think that!? You honestly think that I would let him!? Are you insane!?" He spoke in that shouting whisper most people did when they were upset and trying to be quiet.
"For the sake of Lacey? Yeah, I think you'd do anything, even open you legs."
Now Sword had been doing really good lately in keeping his temper in check. But the fact that he had alcohol in his system, couple with the comment Sen just made, it made Sword going off. He stood up suddenly, knowing he couldn't yell because of Lacey, he threw the beer bottle at the wall behind Sen, just missing his head. The bottle shattered loudly, he looked at Sen with that piercing glare he had lost so long ago.
The shattering bottle made Sen flinch, but he met Sword's glare with one of his own. "Touch a nerve, did I?"
"You better be fucking thankful that Lacey's here, or I would have put you back in that infirmary so fast it would make your head spin."
"Yeah, because that's your answer to everything, isn't it Sword?" Sen kept his voice quiet, his eyes fixed on Sword, but the sparkle they usual had, the bright flicker of life dead, his eyes cold and empty.
"Fuck you." He said and made his way to the bathroom.
Sen rested his elbows on the table, resting his forehead on his hands. Lacey skipped after Sword, knocking on the door. "Daddddddy? Come play play d'oh?"
"In a minute, Lacey. Let me shower first, okay?"
The girl let out a sad sigh. "'kay." She made her way to the kitchen, setting the tub of different coloured doughs on the table. "Daddy Sen? Play with me?" Sen wiped a tear from his eye and nodded. "Sure." Lacey handed a ball of dough to Sen and took one for herself. "I'mma make a cat, what about you?" Sen stared at the ball of dough for a long moment. "How about a rocket?" Lacey nodded, smiling bright. "A rocket? Oh yay!"
Sword stripped and turned the water on. He made sure it was cold. That should sober him up. Getting in he scrubbed his hair and the rest of him. Rinsing and then getting out again. All the while trying not to think of what had just happened. At least he had told Sen the truth, mostly. And not waited for the very last moment to tell him. Like some people he knew.... He dressed and towel dried his hair, looking in the mirror he could see that the hair growing on his bald patch was pretty long now. About 6 inches or so. Coming from the bathroom, he found Lacey. "Hey Lacey. Do you want to play with my hair? I've got something really cool you can do."
Lacey looked at Sen and then to Sword. "Is it cooler than play d'oh rockets?" She asked.
Sword shrugged, "I don't know. You'll have to decide for yourself."
Sen nodded at her. "Go on, we can play more with the play d'oh later." The girl climbed down from the table again and made her way over to Sword. Sen put the dough back in the tub to stop it drying out and went to clean up the broken glass.
Sword picked Lacey up and sat her on the bed. He sat down in front of her on the floor, his back facing her. Reaching up he sectioned his new hair into two sections, "Okay. Take one of these," He waited until she did, "And then what you're going to do is make it all tangled, like this." He rubbed his hands together so she could see, "Make it look like the rest of my hair." He figured she would like doing this because, she got to tangle someone's hair. Something children were often told not to do.
The girl smiled and took the section of hair, tangling and mussing it as Sword had shown her. "Now your hair will all match!" A strong of cuss words came from the next room. Lacey stopped tangling Sword's hair. "Daddy Sen said LOTS of bad words!" Sen had managed to cut the palm of his hand on a shard of broken bottle, he hadn't meant to swear quite that loud. He ran his hand under the water for a few seconds, before wrapping it in a towel.
"When I was in the shower?" Sword frowned, "What did he say?"
Lacey shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. "Just that he'd make a rocket out of dough."
Sword patted Lacey's hands and stood up, "I'll be right back. I'm going to see if Sen's okay." He made his way to the kitchen, "You alright?"
Sen kept his back to Sword, tears in his eyes, holding the towel in place. "Yeah. Just a small cut."
"I don't think a small cut would get as much swearing as you just did." He reached out for Sen's hand, "Let me see."
Sen sighed and pulled the towel away, the cut was deep, but not deep enough to need stitches, and the cut was clean, not jagged so it shouldn't scar. It was still bleeding though not as bad as it had been moments before.
"Sen!" Sword grabbed pressed it against the cut, "Sit down." He guided Sen to a chair and sat him down, placing his elbow on the table and raised his forearm up, so his hand was a little higher than his shoulder. He did his best to stop the bleeding.
Sen tried to tug his arm away. "It's nothing, just a small cut." He was fighting with his emotions, fighting to hold back the tears threatening to fall, and that anger still locked within him.
"Sen, you're bleeding all over the place. This isn't a small cut."
"Just stick a band aid on it, it'll be fine."
"Why are you trying to make this into something smaller when it's clearly not? I'm not blind, Sen. Well, not anymore anyway."
"Because it's nothing, just a small cut from broken glass, it'll be fine in a few minutes." He pulled his hand away and held the towel in place, staring at the floor.
"You know what? Fine." Sword held his hands up in defeat, "Be difficult. I was only trying to help." He made to leave.
Sen quickly held his hand out to Sword, sniffling back the tears. "Lick it better."
Sword furrowed his brow, "What?"
He kept it held out. "Lick it until it stops bleeding."
"Why?' But he took Sen hand's anyway and licked it.
Sen sniffled more. "Because it'll make it better."
Sword conituned licking but looked up at Sen with his eyes, "Why are you crying?"
"It hurts, dummy." He said, but his voice was soft, the sniffles turning into sobs.
"What does exactly?" He asked, knowing it probably wasn't the cut even if that's what Sen had meant.
"My head. My heart. My hand."
"Sen...." He lifted a hand a cupped Sen's face with it.
Sen looked away, not able to look at Sword.
"Do you honestly think that I liked doing it?"
Sen didn't answer, instead he scrunched up his eyes to fight the tears.
"Sen, please. Let's talk about this. I don't want to have to spend the rest of the week like this."
Sen bit on his lip, taking a deep breath. "Yes. I think you liked doing it."
Sword was surprised by that answer, "What!? Why!?"
Sen stared at the floor. "Because I am jealous, and I am insecure and you like good sex and he's better in bed than I am."
"No he's not, Sen. No one is better than you."
"My sex is dull. I'm not good enough for you in bed. I know I'm not. And I'm scared. Scared you'll fall in love with his sex, and in time fall in love with him." His voice was quiet, but the honesty in it was clear.
"Fall in love with him? Sen. Are you listening to yourself? How could I fall in love him? He's not you. He might be talented but he will never be able to me hard from just one kiss, or almost have me orgasm from just the simplest touch. Only you can do that, Sen."
"All I do is hurt you and make you angry. He can give you anything you want."
"Sen stop." He took Sen's shoulders in his hands, "I don't want him or anyone else. What I want is you."
Sen sniffled, meeting Sword's gaze. "You promise?"
Sword nodded, "I do. It's your ring I'm wearing remember?"
Sen shifted so he was sat on Sword's lap, the tears still running down his cheek. "I just.... the thought of him touching you... there.... in that way.... I.... I can't handle it."
"And you think I can? After what he did to me?" He shook his head, "I can't enjoy anyone's touch like I do yours."
Sen pulled Sword's arms around his waist, letting out a soft sound.
"It's okay, Sen." He said and softly put his arms around the man.
Sen clung tighter. "Just... promise me.... If you DO fall in love with him... don't lead me on with false hope, just tell me right out, okay?"
"I don't need to promise that." He said, "Because it will never happen."
"Just promise anyway, okay?"
"Okay, fine. I promise."
Sen rested his head on Sword's shoulder, his cheeks still wet with tears.
"I love you."
Sen lifted his head to kiss Sword's jaw. "Say it again."
"I love you."
He kissed along Sword's jaw to his lips. "I love you too, Sword."
