What: Sen tries to get kain to talk

Even though Kain had said he didn't need Sen to come up and talk to him, he'd gone anyway, after all, something was bothering Kain and Sen wanted to help - he owed that much to Kain after everything the man had done for him. The light above the door was off, indicating that Kain wasn't working. He knocked at the door, before simply opening it and walking in.

"Kain?"

Kain was in the bedroom. He was curled up underneath the cover of the bed. He heard Sen come in but didn't move. He kept his head buried under the covers. He didn't want Sen to see him like this, crying like a child and all.

Sen frowned when he didn't see Kain at his desk. He locked the door behind himself and walked further into the room. He glanced at the door to the bedroom, hearing the distinct sound of muffled tears. He knew the sound well, he'd made it enough times himself when he had cried and not wanted anyone else to know.

He walked into the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed, peeling back the covers a little to stroke Kain's hair. "I knew you weren't okay."

Kain buried his face into the pillow, "Sen, Please. I said I didn't want to talk." Came his muffled, tear filled voice.

Sen continued to soothe and pet his hair lightly. "Then you don't have to talk, but I'm still not leaving you like this. Something bad has obviously happened, and I can't just abandon you."

Kain sobbed into the pillow and after a long moment, he moved his head to the side to breath better, "I'm thinking about quitting."

"Quitting? But why? You're amazing at what you do, you've helped so many people."

Kain let out a bitter chuckled, "David doesn't seem to think so....." He said as more tears flowed silently.

Sen frowned. "Oh... you guys had a fight about your work?" He shifted to lay on the bed beside Kain, continuing to stroke his hair. "I guess... you have to put the relationship first, but he knew what kind of work you did before you got together right? Surely he knew what things went on and that it's just a job?"

"He knows, but...." He rolled over a little, still not looking at Sen, "I made a stupid mistake! And he has every right to be angry. A client and I went to lunch. Well, when we went to lunch I had no idea he was about to become a client. We were just going as friends. So I wasn't really in my Kain apparel. And we got talking and things came up and I decided I needed to help him. He just went through a heart-break and was having problems else where. The next thing I knew he was telling me to met him in the men's room of the restaurant we were at. So I did. And I made it clear to him that I was doing this as Kain and not me, Nato. Anyway, when we were finished we came out of the stall to see two guys looking at us. They heard what went on. At the time I thought it was a little amusing. One of them happened to be a client of mine. But I guess news spread and David found out about it and wasn't too happy. Which he made clear only about an hour ago." He began to sob again, "He basically called me a whore and said that we couldn't solve anything." He swallowed, "So now I don't know if he's broken up with me or what....." He buried his face into the pillow again and sobbed hard.

Sen let out a soft sigh. "Oh Kain... I'm sorry." He shifted to wrap his arms around the other man' pulling him close. "I can see why David would be jealous, and angry, but if you were doing it as Kain, then office or men's room, it was still work." He rubbed the man's back softly. "I'm sure when he's calmed down a little you'll be able to work things out. I'm sure he didn't mean those things he said, we all say things we don't mean when we're angry."

"Even if we do. What will happen then? Will I have to wait around for the next he hears something and goes off again?" He shook his head, "I think it'll just be better if I quit. Providing I still have a relationship that is."

Sen wanted to say 'you can't quit, I need you', but really, his own selfish needs were not as important as Kain's happiness. He let out a heavy sigh. "You... have to do what's right for you."

Kain smiled sadly at Sen, "I know what you're thinking. And you don't need me anymore. You and Sword are fine now."

"Yeah... until the next fight, then we'll be back to square one all over again. I still need you Kain, you've helped me get through so much, and more than that you're my friend. I enjoy spending time with you... If you leave, I'll never get to see you again."

"Sen. You can't expect me to be there to pick up the pieces everytime you and Sword have a disagreement. You need to learn to stand on your own. If it gets violent, then yes I'll be there, but...." Kain was silent for a moment, "I can't.... I mean if what I do is keeping me from being with David......" Tears began to flow again, "I don't even know if I still have relationship...." He sobbed.

Sen let out a soft sigh. "Then talk to him. Find out where out both stand before you make any rash decisions. If you want me to talk to him, or sit in incase things turn nasty... Just don't quit the job you love until you know where you stand."

He pressed a soft kiss to Kain's temple, almost motherly. Lacey had really brought out his parent-like reactions.

"I've tried Sen. But David didn't seem to want to talk or solve things. At least not at the moment. And if he decides he doesn't want me anymore, I can't really blame him. I understand why he's so upset and he has every right to be." He wiped wildly at his tears, knowing his face was all red and blotchy. "I fucked up big time..."

Sen stroked Kain's hair softly. "He shouldn't be jumping to comclusions or refusing to hear the facts. Kain... you didn't do anythin wrong." He kissed the man's temple again. "Everything will work itself out, just give him time to cool down."
