Who: Zato
Where: Recreational Area
What: Looking for a friend
When: After Lunch
Warnings: none Yet.
After the charade of a meal from the cafeteria - dry burritos with rubbery meat and rock hard beans - Zato had slowly padded his way towards the small recreational area. he could hear a tv droning in one corner, and felt his way around, sitting at a table. He put his hands upon it to find it was covered with checkers pieces. He memorized the places, and sat there quietly, his head down, hiding the cover that hid his eyes.

He noticed Zato sitting alone with a checkers board and walked over. "One player checkers can't be much of a challenge... You'll always win."

Zato kept his head down still, not wanting to freak this young man out, after all. it wasn't polite to scare someone playing a friendly game with you, now was it. The man would probably think him depressed, or shy. but he had to hold out. Most people ran when they found out his ... condition.

After a long moment, he frowned and decided to ask as he moved his piece. "Do you get a feeling for which is a good piece to move?"

"Something I hope he won't ever loose." He watched the game from over his love's shoulder. He looked at Squall. "You'll loose you know, Squall was it?"

"You give me too much credit, love" he purred, and moved his next piece. "I just learned to memorize the board, and by the sound of the scrape of the pieces, I can know where you are ... but it's possible to confuse me, of course" he said simply, as he moved his hand to touch his lover's cheek, perturbed by the slightly less than full cheeks. he wasn't smiling.

He watched the two lovers, smiling soft. It was certainly nice to see acts of real love in this hell hole. He slid his own piece and turned his attention to Axl. "It's a good job I'm not a sore loser then." He said with a playful smirk.

A blue eye looked over at Squall and then a smile crept up on his face. How could he not be happy to have him? It was wonderful. "Yeah? Well, he's awesome. Don't forget it, Chum."

He jumped one of Zato's pieces himself. "So far his words are pretty true, you're kicking my ass."

Though the 'soft' comment was a little odd. The Brit whispered into his lover's ear. "What does that mean, exactly? I am not making you anything, I just asked for you to not throw your health away."
