Who: Norman, Kain
When: Afternoon around 3.
Where: Kain's office
What: talking
Rating: TBA

Kain sat behind his desk in his usual tuxedo-esque outfit. He had received a message from Norman that put up red flags. There was something bothering Norman. And he desperately wanted to help. Unfortunately for Norman, Kain was the only person he could talk to and not worry about it getting back to someone else. Kain may be the only trust worthy person in this place. Not even the warden could be trusted. He wasn't blind and he did his research, he knew the warden was working with Sword as far as the drug trafficking went. Of course he really wasn't any better. Sen had come to him and asked if he could get him some morphine for Sword. And of course he couldn't refuse.

After he received the message from Norman he had asked him to stop by. He now sat behind his desk and waited. He quickly went over a few files about the recent going-ons at UGH. So Sword had got himself in solitary, did he? Well, at least he held up his end of the bargain and didn't hurt Sen. Kain could really care less what happened to anyone else. As long as Sen was safe, that was what mattered.

He hated feeling jealous, and especially hated it when he had a strong suspicion there was a good reason for him to be jealous. Just when he thought he could trust Kain, something like this popped up. It really was unfortunate that Kain was so damn persistent. Norman didn't want to even look at him but he knew the therapist wouldn't give up until he agreed. So here he was, determined to make this stay as short as possible. He pushed his way into the room, gave it an idle glance, and made himself at home in the chair.

"All right, I'm here," he said. "The terms from last time still stand, though. I'm not going to say anything if you turn into Sword, and... don't turn into Sen either. Got it?"

Norman was not in a smiling mood during this visit just like the last time he saw Kain. But the last time had ended on such great terms. Well, that was all over with now. "You know what my desires are," he began quietly. "You know what music I like, what drinks, what smells... You know all these things and you don't know what's wrong? Surely you know something. I'll start you off: I haven't been whoring myself out since Sen moved in the cell with me."

He had vehemetly denied, first to Sen and then to Kain, that he was jealous. But it was like denying that the sky was blue. "Of course I'm jealous," he said, addressing Kain's desk more than the man sitting behind it. "I know I don't have any right to tell Sen who he should hang out with, but I don't like him being with you. I know what goes on here and... I'm falling in love with him, Kain, and it scares me. It's bad enough that I have to deal with Sword, but you too?" Norman shook his head, clearly bewildered beyond words. He knew his feelings were selfish and pointless but it didn't change anything.

He frowned slightly. Sen had said he wanted to confess something... something he thought would make Norman hate him. He had just assumed that something had happened between Sen and Kain. But if what Kain said was true (and it didn't seem like a lie) then what else could Sen have done that would cause Norman to hate him? He shook his head, feeling stupid for getting so worked up. Kain was just trying to hep him and he jumped down the guy's throat.

"I'm sorry, Kain. You're right. I don't know why I thought-- nevermind. I'm just sorry I got so upset over nothing."

Kain had a good point, Norman admitted, but it wasn't the same thing. He never tricked anyone when he had sex and it was just for money. Anyway, it wasn't like Norman knew that he was really with Kain that one time the therapist pretended to be Sword. "I don't have to see you," Norman said at last. "If I can give up being a whore for him, it's no problem to give you up." He couldn't explain why he didn't want Sen around Kain. Maybe it was because Kain was Japanese like Sen, and could relate to Sen in ways Norman could not.

"I only came here because I knew you wouldn't leave me alone until I dropped by," he concluded.

Now that was a very good question. Was he glad he came? Norman thought about it. He got some stuff off his chest so it wasn't a total waste of time, but Norman could've done that with writing out stuff for his book.

"I guess," he said finally. He got to his feet. "I appreciate what you did for me last time, really. It's just... as mixed up as I feel, I'm still a lot happier than I've been in a long time. I don't need you right now. So I'm going. Catch you later." Yeah, just like that. He had nothing else he wanted to say to Kain.
