WHO: Kain, Michael, Mutou
WHEN: After Michael gets in a fight with Muraki
WHERE: Mutou's office
WHAT: Discussing Michael's behavour.
RATING: PG-13?
Kain had to cancel his plans with Damon. He decided to escort Michael to the wadren's office instead. Which took a lot of convincing to get Michael to come quietly, but Kain managed. With Michael standing beside him looking sullen, Kain knocked gently on Mutou's door.
Mutou leans back in his chair, folding his hands over his abdomen. "Come in."
Kain opened the door and let Michael enter first, who sat down in the chair and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked like a sulking child. Kain closed the door and came the rest of the way into the room, "One guess as to why he's here." Kain said flatly.
Mutou raises a brow at Kain before shifting his gaze to Michael. "Who did you get into a fight with this time?"
Michael remained silent and acted as if he hadn't been spoken to.
"Muraki. One of the doctors." Kain filled in for him.
Mutou's eyes narrow. "I am well aware of who Muraki is. Michael. Why did you attack him?"
MIchael still didn't utter a word, mostly because he couldn't remember why the fight had started.
After a few moments Kain stepped forward, "Warden, if I may, I think I might have a way to keep Michael out of trouble."
Mutou holds his glare on Michael a minute before shifting it to Kain once again. "Strap him down to something permanently?"
Kain couldn't help but smirk at that, but he regained his composure. "Not exactly. Michael has a lot of anger built up inside him. And the only way he knows how to getit out is to fight. It's the only outlet he's ever known. But if he were to have another outlet, then maybe he wouldn't be so angry and start actually being content. As you know I speak with the inmates on a regular basis, and most of them have complained about the appearence of the rec room. So maybe if Michael were to help paint it? Or if we found him another job around the prison. It would keep him busy. Make him feel like he's needed."
"Isn't letting out frustrations -your- specialty, Kain?" Mutou smirks, looking back at Michael. "What do you think, Michael. Can you paint?"
Michael looked disgusted at Mutou's comment about Kain's specialty. The would be no way in hell he would ever have sex with that therapist. All the man ever wanted to talk about was Michael's home life and why he was so angry. He looked up at the warden, "Of course I can paint." He said, his voice harbouring a 'do I look like an idiot?' tone.
Mutou waves a hand. "But can you do it well?"
Michael nodded sullenly.
"Well then..." Mutou pulls out some forms from a drawer and begins to fill them out. "You can start in two weeks, after you've finished your solitary for attacking the doctor. You'll be paid, of course. When the entire prison has been painted, we'll see about finding you other work."
"What!? But I just got out! I--- the entire prison!? But He just said only the rec room needed to be painted!"
Mutou lifts his eyes from the paperwork. "If you just got out, then you should've thought twice about why you went in there in the first place. Attacking my staff will -never- be tolerated. You will understand that eventually." He scribbles a bit more on the form. "Once the rec room is painted, the rest of the place will look shabby. You, apparently, need something to keep you busy for an extended period of time. Painting will do that."
Michael heaved out a sigh and crossed his arms again, slutching back in the chair to sulk again.
Mutou signs the papers and puts them in a pile for work orders. "Is there anything else?" He glances between the pair in his office.
"Yes, actually." Kain said, "BUt I think it's best for Michael to be on his way before I speak with you about it."
Mutou gets on the intercom and has a guard come to escort Michael to the solitary. Once the inmate is gone, he looks to Kain. "Now then..."
Kain sits down where Michael was seconds before, "It's about Michael's cellmate, Jay Clayton. Jay seems to be the only one around here who can handle Michael. When Jay's around, Michael is a lot calmer and isn't as quick to pick fights. Maybe while Michael is painting the prison, Jay could help as well? Too help keep Michael calm."
"Wasn't the purpose of painting to occupy his time? If all we have to do is let the pair fuck eachother, then why the job?"
"Who said they would be having sex while doing it?" Kain furrowed his brow, "In fact, I don't think they've ever been intimate."
TeNKiLoVe (11:16:08 AM): Mutou chuckles. "I believe otherwise, but you -are- the expert." He waves a hand. "Fine. Jay is allowed to paint with him." Leaning forward, the warden scribbles Jay's name on the form as well."
BlindAngl (11:24:54 AM): Kain looked a little shocked. Had he missed some signs that were telling that Michael had been intimate? "I just find it hard to believe tht anyone, even Jay, could get close enough for that." He shook his head, "But it's not important," Actually it was important. If Michael allowed one person to get close to him, maybe there was still hope he could develope a bit of a social life and make some friends.
Kain paused for a short moment, "How have you been holding up?"
"I'm okay."
Kain nodded and smiled, "Good. I'm glad. I don't like seeing you upset."
Of course he lies, but who's telling? He forces a smile. "Thank you for your concern."
Kain thought for a moment, "Would you like to grab some lunch sometime?" He offered, "It couldn't hurt to get away from the job for a couple of hours with a friend."
Mutou looks Kain over then smiles again, for real this time. "Yeah. I'd like that."
Kain smiled back, "Well, just let me know when your free and we'll make it happen."
Mutou raises a brow. "I am free at lunch time."
Kain checked the clock, "So basically now?" He chuckled lightly.
Mutou shakes his head with a soft smile and stands. "Sure."
The good thing was Kain didn't need to go back to his office to change, as he was already in his street wear. He smiled at Mutou and stood as while, making his way to the door, "Is there anywhere in particular you would like to go?"
Mutou shakes his head. "Your choice." He follows Kain out of his office and to the elevator.
Kain immediately thought of the little sushi place not too far from here. But then realized that he kinda liked it to be his and David's place. They had been going there a few times a week, and David was the only one he went there with anymore. "How about we just drive and see where we end up?" He suggested, "Your car or mine?"
"Yours. I didn't drive here."
