What: Light investigates
Where: Rec room, Light's cell
When: Afternoon
Rating: Umm... none?
Adam was doing business as usual; selling, buying... mostly selling. He was stood in the rec room, talking to a few inmates, one small blonde Japanese in particular.
Light grumbled openly when the three larger inmates came to bother him again, He calmly closed his book and sighed, shivering. "No matter what you say...You’re not going to get to me." He mumbled, though moments later one of them just lifted him up. "Put me down..."
Sono watched a moment then squirmed in and tugged at Adam's shirt. "Hey, man, come on. He's only a kid. Leave him alone."
The tall man sighed and dropped Light onto the couch. "Aw, come on Sono. It's just a bit of fun. He's too weak to fight back anyway."
Light grunted slightly when dropped back onto the couch, glaring daggers at the back of the lager American inmate’s head. It was definitely a potent stare...But moments later it disappeared. "Thank you."
Sono waited for Adam and his friends to leave then rolled his eyes before looking at Light. "No problem. He can be a real jackass but he's okay. Seems to listen well to orders," he laughed, seating himself near Light, putting his feet up in the gap between them.
"I'd rather stay out of sight though, so I don't intend to give order. I can definitely defend myself, but if they knew that I think they would try harder."
"They probably would, yeah. You should ask around. Get yourself a decent weapon. Can't ask those guys, they're not those kinds of dealers. Oh, I'm Sono, by the way," he said, leaning up slightly and holding out a slender hand to shake.
Light blinked. Already he had found some drug dealers by just talking to someone. Light offered his own hand with a smile. "Yagami Light."
"Can I just call you Light? It's better than using surnames." He smiled at Light, unable to hide how naturally feminine he was. He wasn't a wimpy girly-boy but he was damn pretty.
"Of course you can. I'm assuming Sono isn't your surname anyway." He chuckled, pretty feminine himself. Definitely a lady-killer...when it came to romance that is.
"Nah, it's Hanasaki. Call me Hana and I'll probably kick your ass," he joked, folding his arms and resting them on his stomach. "So, whatcha in for?"
Light opened his mouth for a second before closing it again. "Murder."
"Pretty much what most of us are here for then, huh? Who'd you kill?" He yawned slightly.
"A friend of mine...How about you, why are you here, Sono?"
"I'm what's known as a serial killer." He replied, running a hand through his hair then resting his head on that hand with his elbow in the back of the couch.
Light had to force himself not to laugh at that. He smiled and looked at the other male. "Really? How many people did you kill?"
"Only seven, though I was aiming for nine." He rubbed at his eye as another inmate he knew walked by. There were a lot of shady types that Sono seemed to get along strangely well with.
Light glanced at the other inmate, thinking for a moment. "What did you think of Kira?"
"Kira?" He was stopped in his tracks. A broad and almost wicked grin spread on his face. "Well, how's that phrase go again... oh yeah, 'Kira is God'." He raised an eyebrow. "What did you think of Kira?"
"I think I quite liked him." Lights own smile grew wicked, closing his eyes. "I'm what you call...A Serial Killer."
"Well, I'm... glad for you. Though, I don't know whether our reasons for serial killing will be the same," he commented, smiling softly.
"I'm sure they will be, Sono."
"Okay, let's have some share time. Why did you kill more than one person? Tell me and I'll explain why I did," he offered, sitting up slightly.
"Because they were bad people, Rapists, murderers." He sat up aswell and crossed his legs.
An eyebrow raised and he glanced around. "You... wanna go talk about this someplace else? I know that more people here speak our language than you'd think," he replied, shifting to make a move out.
Light nodded, standing and patting down his pants, smiling. "Where should we go?"
"We can go to my cell or yours? My cellmate will probably be in but he's a trustworthy guy, and I don't think he knows Japanese." He stood and pulled a band from his wrist, tying it around his hair.
"Let's go to mine, I don't have a cellmate." He says this with a soft smile, running a hand through his hair and picking up his book, walking out of the common area.
Sono followed Light to his cell and spoke greetings to various inmates as he walked. He only had a few deep connections but he knew a lot of people.
Once the entered his cell he hopped up onto the top bunk and pressed that little button, the cell doors sliding closed. "I am Kira."
Sono turned as the cell doors closed and had a vague recollection of a horror movie scene but as Light spoke his head turned back quickly to look at the other. "You're kidding, seriously, I'm not that gullible." His tone was actually slightly in fear but mostly anticipation.
"I was arrested by Near, Nate Rivers. L's Heir. I killed L." He smiled softly and sat contently on the bunk. "X-Kira is here to."
"Seriously, this is a stupid joke." He folded his arms but his eyes showed a childlike glow of something sort of like hope.
"Give me a way to prove it to you.”
I don't know how!" He frowned and looked out of the cell a moment. Then it came to him. "What was L's real name?" He asked as he turned back.
He frowned slightly as he thought about that strange detective. "L Lawliet."
"Fuck... holy fucking Christ... no fucking way!!" Sono couldn't control his swearing, it was pure shock that filled him. A soft giggle came out afterwards and he covered his mouth, looking at Light.
"I need you not to tell anyone." He says softly, slipping off the bunk and smiling. "I'm...Reduced to nothing now."
"O-of course I won't! I'm just... you're only a kid! I don't get that," he laughed a little, putting his hands in his pockets.
"I started while I was in High school. I may look like a kid, but no more than you."
"Okay, I kinda deserved that one. Wow... high school." He chuckled softly then made a gesture to the bunk. "Can I sit?"
"Of course you can sit, Sono...”
Sono placed himself on the bottom bunk and sat looking at Light for a moment. "You're not a teenager, are you?" He laughed slightly at his earlier judgements.
"I'm 22. But People thinking I’m younger is good for me."
"Yeah, since no one would think you are Kira. Wait... Kira was Tokyo based. Which school did you go to?" He leaned towards Light slightly.
"Aoyama." He eyed the other inching toward him.
"No way! Me too!" He was actually so glad to finally meet someone from his school. He'd been jealous of the bonds that Shuya, Ryu and Kazuo shared.
He blinked a little then. "What a small world..."
"Smaller than you'd believe. Three other guys I know all went to the same school." He fidgeted slightly, chewing his sleeve. "Hey, who's the X-Kira?"
"His name is Teru Mikami...I'm trying to get a cell change to his cell."
"Teru Mikami... longish dark hair, wears glasses sometimes?" He could vaguely recall seeing Light and the man he described in the library.
"Yes..." He blinks a little bit, pressing the button to open the cell again. It was around now that Teru stopped by.
Sono watched the cell door open then as Light predicted, Mikami walked in.
The older man raised an eyebrow at the small blonde on the bottom bunk. "Good afternoon, Yagami-kun. A friend of yours?"
"Yes, a new one in fact. Sono, this is Mikami." He smiles slightly patting the bunk as an indication for his lover to sit.
Sono smiled, instantly picking up the signs of their relationship. He simply nodded his head once. "A pleasure, Mikami."
He sat near Light and eyed the addition to Light's list of 'trustworthy' people. "Mm, a pleasure. So, how do you two know eachother?" He asked, ruffling his hair.
"He went to school with me." Light says softly, looking at Mikami for a moment. "He's a fan."
Sono giggled softly at the last part. "You make me sound like a stalker. Actually, I rescued Light about twenty minutes ago," he explained.
"School, a fan... rescued him from what?" He frowned, looking between the two younger males.
"From bullies." He says sarcastically, leaning on Mikami a little.
"Bullies? Give me their names and I'll have them gone within the hour," Mikami replied.
Sono laughed, shaking his head. "They were just some guys. He's fine. I'll keep an eye out for them."
"No you won't. You'll be in solitary, who would keep me safe then?"
"Who said I have to do it myself, Yagami-kun?" He folded his arms almost as if he were sulking.
He smiled and shifted to stand. "Shall I leave? I don't want to be an awkward third wheel for you guys." He laughed softly.
"No, it’s alright. I want to know about the people you know." He chuckles a little, ignoring Mikami's pout.
"The people I know? You gotta be specific, my friend. I know a lot of people." He slumped back down on the bunk, leaning against the wall and lacing his fingers together, resting his hands on his stomach.
Mikami paused and watched Light, knowing there was a plan working in that calculating mind.
"Weapons dealers, drug dealers. People I'd rather avoid." He chuckles softly, shivering and rubbing at his eyes.
"Hmm... well there are a lot of them. That guy Adam West, he's a head drug dealer. Obviously not as high up as Shut Call but no one hears anything about him these days. Weapons dealers... not too sure about that. I mean, if I need a weapon to protect myself, I got a friend who makes things. He's no one to avoid, though." Sono told the older school friend.
He frowned just slightly and sat with a hand on Light's back, almost as if he were ready to pull him from danger if need arise.
He nodded slightly, adding that name to the list. Not only that but Sono also had weapons....Though turning his new 'friend' in didn't sound like the best Idea. He yawns a little and leans into Mikami's touch.
"Other than that, people are generally okay. But you've been here longer than me, right?" He tilted his head slightly.
Mikami could practically see what Light was thinking. This was all valuable information to be used at a later date
"I have, but I've been hiding the whole time, just recently I decided I would explore again."
"Mm... a protective hand to guide you is a good thing to pick you up and make you explore life." He smiled, messing with his blonde hair to cover his blushing face.
He couldn't stop his slight smile at that and gently stroked his hand down Light's back.
Light smiled slightly again, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. "It is...”
