What: Ghostly goings-on
Where: Library
When: Afternoon
Rating: PG
Sono was sat in the library, reading a book and trying to concentrate. His mind was swimming and he missed Ryu terribly. The library seemed dark without him there. As he thought this, his ears picked up a sound he was extremely used to but surprised to hear. The Devil's Trill... being hummed. He frowned, lifting his gaze to where he usually would see Ryuiki.
And there he was, a glimpse of the small teen in the chair and drawing, though moments later that was gone, however the piece of paper was still there, all that was on it though were outlines for a drawing, a sketchy sun and a few clouds. But the humming didn't go away.
He blinked as he saw the teen, frowning. He stood and moved towards the table, unsure of what he was hearing. He lifted the paper and saw the outlines. "R... Ryuiki?" He couldn't believe he was saying this out loud.
"Yes?" It was then that the ghost seemed to realize what was happening and he bounced back to the table, smiling like an idiot. "You...You can see me? You can hear me?"
"Oh my fucking god..." he exhaled in one breath, dropping the paper and stepping back from the... other. He bumped into a chair and looked at it, squeaking slightly in surprise and fear.
"D-don't be scared of me Sono..." He pouts a little and steps back aswell. "I got to see outside...There's snow everywhere and the moon is so bright..." His image wavered a little, before coming back into focus. "My body's still alive right?"
His eyes were wide and filled with tears. He didn't understand what was going on. "O-outside... um... yes. A-alive." He shuddered, his entire body feeling icy cold. He took another step back, in fear and complete confusion.
"I never knew you had a sixth sense...I've been following you and Kazuo around the last few days..." He paused, backing further away and fading from sight entirely. "But I can tell you can't handle this. I'll go elsewhere."
"Sixth sense? I haven't..." He wasn't sure what to make of everything but when he heard Ryu say he'd go elsewhere he panicked. "No! Stay!!" He wanted Ryu to be alive.
"But...I keep scaring you, Sono." He says slowly, coming back into view. "I'm not dead..."
"But... you're in the infirmary... and here... I don't have a sixth sense." He hugged his injured wrist to himself, frowning at the Ryuiki stood before him.
"When I died for a minute or so on the table, I was forced out, but my body came back...I haven't been able to wake up because I haven't been able to...get back in." H mumbles, making a few completely pointless hand gestures.
"Oh... god... are you going to... stay... dead? I-I mean... out of it...?" He shivered a little, unable to think of what to do. What could he do in a situation like this?
"No...I'll find a way back. I have to!" He giggles a little and sits down again. "I'm glad...you can see me."
"I don't... understand why I can. I don't have any... sixth sense. I never have..." He frowned and stayed stood up, still hugging his arms to his chest.
"You're developing one...It will take getting used to...Just don't let them know you can hear them. They won't ever leave you alone if you do..." He pouts a little and goes back to drawing, recreating what he saw when he looked out a window in the warden’s office that morning.
"But why? I don't understand... I haven't done anything to develop one." He rubbed his eyes, still not sure whether he was dreaming this whole thing.
"Something Traumatic can bring it about...It...could have been me, or it could have just been...growing."
Sono swallowed heavily. "It's probably... the build up of everything... and then you on top... it's so strange to be talking to you like this."
"It won't be for long, promise. Though...I don't think I'll remember talking to you once I'm back...” He makes a slight face, focusing hard on drawing, making the pencil move.
"Ryu... please... hurry on finding a way back. I....." He stopped and thought for a moment. "Tsuzuki!!" He announced, standing straight. "I need to find him!!"
"I...Want to finish drawing." He mumbles, softly, sketching a few more things to make it obvious as to what he was drawing...so he could finish it when he woke up. "Do you know where he is...?"
"I'll find him! Y-you... stay here!" His voice sounded almost panicked. He ran out of the library and searched for Tsuzuki, looking for any Japanese guard at all. If he found Shuya, he'd be able to ask where Tsuzuki was. As he moved he caught a glimpse of Tsu a short distance away. He ran over to him, skidding across the floor and gripping the man's arm to steady himself. "Tsu-Tsuzuki!" He panted.
Tsuzuki jumped at his name, easily steadying the smaller man before just picking him up and giving him a chance to relax. "Yes, Sono? Is something wrong?"
He clung to Tsuzuki for a moment. "Is there anywhere we can talk... about something... 'normal' people won't understand?" He tried to make the older man understand.
"We could always just speak in Japanese." He says simply, looking around and setting the younger man down. "We could always go to Solitary..."
"This needs to be a private conversation... solitary." He held his hands out to Tsu for him to cuff them, only now blushing at the fact that Tsuzuki had been holding him a moment earlier.
He cuffed the younger male quickly, gently shoving him in the direction of solitary confinement and sighing. "Alright. Solitary it is."
As soon as they arrived, Sono looked at Tsu, completely ignoring the cuffs and just continuing to explain to Tsu what was going on. "I saw Ryu." He opened with a simple statement.
"Yeah, He's in a coma isn't he?" Tsuzuki pouted and sat on the ground, rubbing at his eyes and undoing the cuffs.
Sono flopped down in front of Tsuzuki. "No, well yes, but I saw him! In the library! A... ghost? I don't understand it but... he said he can't get back into his body!" His words sounded crazy to himself. He was so confused.
He blinked a few times, staring at the other male and thinking about it. "Are you sure...? Show me." He says this with a sigh, putting the cuffs back on.
"Show... show you?" He frowned and got up. "I'm completely sure. I'm not crazy... anymore. I know what I saw and heard." He let Tsu cuff him and lead him out to the library, trying to look as if this was a normal thing.
He followed the younger man, looking around and smiling slightly. That faded the instant he stepped in the library though, uncuffing Sono and rushing over to Ryu. "T-technically...I...Should take you to the ministry...I need to talk to king Enma..." He mumbles softly, reaching out and actually petting Ryuiki's hair.
Ryu smiled and waved instantly, that happy expression fading slowly. "You mean...I may have to go?"
"No!! Tsuzuki! Help... help him get into his body! Ryu i-is still alive!" He whimpered and hugged Tsuzuki, unable to physically stop himself from doing it.
"I won't let him do it." He says this softly to Sono, hugging him back. "I'll find a way to extend his candle if it's dying." He sighs and looks back to Ryuiki. "Don't worry.."
Ryuiki just nods, setting the pencil down.
"Th-thank you." He mumbled to Tsuzuki before turning to look at Ryu. He reached out but didn't try to touch him. "You'll come back soon, right?"
But Ryuiki reached out to touch the other man, taking his hand and holding it. "As soon as possible...I miss you so much." He smiles again.
Tsuzuki sighed slightly and placed a hand on both of them. "If it comes down to it...I may...need to take some of you candle to keep him alive..."
"M-my... candle?" He looked at Ryu's face, smiling softly at the pretty teenager he still held a different kind of candle for. "Anything, as long as we get Ryu back." He turned to Tsuzuki, nodding a little.
He smiled wider at the smile, thought it faded for a moment, it came back seconds later. He wanted Sono to be his still. "I don't...Want you to take his life...If...If I outlive him because you gave it to me...I wouldn't do it."
Asato nods slowly, closing his eyes. "I don’t know if I'll have to yet..."
"If it brings him back, I'll be happy. I don't mind if it leaves me with only a few more years. Ryuiki... deserves to live. A long happy life." He smiled and squeezed Ryu's hand, not sure if he was actually feeling it there or not.
"S-sono no.." He pouted instantly, tugging a little at the hand. "You deserve it too..." He sighed and looked at Tsuzuki. "If I'm supposed to be dead...Just...All I'd need is another year..."
Asato nodded slowly, stepping back and closing his eyes. "During my break I'll talk to the king...”
"Thank you, Tsuzuki. I... don't mean to cause you any trouble... I just want Ryu... alive." He smiled beautifully at the older man before turning to look at the teen. "You're younger than me, you deserve more of a life... especially after everything Saki... and I have put you through."
"It doesn't matter what happened in my past. I Don't want to outlive the people I love. I wouldn't live though it." He sighs, standing and stretching. "If I lost you or Kazuo. I would die."
Tsuzuki nodded again and stepped away, sighing. "I'll be going now..."
"Good bye, Tsuzuki. And thank you again." He moved away from Ryu and tiptoed to kiss Tsuzuki on the cheek. He smiled at him then looked at Ryuiki. "You'll outlive me anyway, Ryu. I'm older than you."
"I don't want to." He protested anyway, huffing childishly and crossing his arms. "You're so important to me.."
"And you're important to me, this is why I want Tsuzuki to take... part of my candle or whatever to bring you back." He frowned, rubbing at his wrist.
"Are you cutting yourself still...?" He mumbles softly, moving close again and touching the other males wrist.
"No... I'm not. It just irritates... and I get urges. I haven't cut." He looked at the hand on his wrist, frowning at it's inhumanity.
"Good..." He pulled away again, sighing slightly and just moving away again. "I love you Sono."
"I know you do, Ryu. And I love you... that's why I'll give up part of my life for you to have yours." He nodded once to this.
"But I...Maybe...I can take some from someone else too..."
"You can't do that to Kazuo, Ryu. He's not in on Tsuzuki being a shinigami... it's not fair to frighten him like that." He folded his arms.
"Not Kazuo...Saki's...Older brother..." He muttered quietly, looking down.
"His... what? You're still in contact with someone related to that beast?" His anger level suddenly piqued. "Damnit, Ryu, if you were alive, I'd flaming well kill you!" He snapped, shaking his head.
"He started to send me letters a few weeks ago. He's going to visit...In...I think a week..."
"You better keep away. If Tsu can get you out of this coma... I want you to stay away from him. Or I come with you. I won't let you go alone." He was adamant about it.
"I guess...You could come in with me...He's a nice person, he believes me." Ryu nods, sitting down and drawing again.
Sono covered his eyes a moment then sat near Ryu. "He'll just stop you from ever getting over Saki... I thought you were truly making progress, what with falling for Kazuo and all... he's going to ruin it." He folded his arms and rested his head.
He sqiurms a little in the chair and rests his head by the other males. "I love you and Kazuo...But I will always love Saki too. He's the first person I loved..." Ryuiki sighs. "I won't let him control me though.."
"I understand about him being the first person you loved. The first person I know I loved shares a cell with me. That's so damn painful. But I am trying to move on. Saki isn't letting you and seeing his brother... might slow you down even more." He blinked a few times, trying not to fall asleep like this.
"I don't...want to turn him down, Sono. He's so kind." Ryuiki yawned a little, not sure if he was tired or if he just felt like he should be. "But I want you to be there.
"I will be. I promise." He nodded once, his eyes closing briefly before he forced them to flicker open again.
"Go to your cell and sleep, Sono. I'll be here when you wake up..."
He whimpered slightly. "Promise?" He lifted his head to look at Ryu properly.
"I don't have anywhere else to go..."
Sono nodded then stood. "C...come back to us soon, Ryu." He said before leaving for his cell.
