Where: Balthier's cell
What: Meetings and warnings
When: After Balthier met with Nathaniel
Rating: PG
Balthier was slumped on his bunk, the bottom on, shirtless and lying on his back with one arm under his head and the other arm on his chest, holding up a book he was supposedly reading. His mind was all over the place but he had a regular calm expression.
"Yo, Prince, you here?" He cocked his head into the cell, looking around before finally locking his sight on the man in the bunk. "You much be his boyfriend."
Balthier raised an eyebrow and lowered his book. "I'm not dating anyone named... Prince." His British accent was thick and upstanding. He sounded terribly posh. He sat up and picked up a shirt from nearby, pulling it on and leaving it unbuttoned.
"I used to call him Princess. I'm talking about Squall. Have you seen him?" He smiled and crossed his arms, leaning on the wall.
"I'm sure he's probably at work, that or a shower." He ruffled his blonde hair then stood up and made a small hand gesture. "You can just come and sit down. I am Balthier."
He nods then at the first statement before shaking his head. "I'll just stand. I'm Seifer. Pleasure to meet you."
He looked at Seifer properly then, assessing him. He had a similar scar to Squall's blonde hair... he was attractive. "I believe Squall has told me some about you. I'm thankful you killed the man who murdered Rinoa. Not that I knew her, of course." He leaned against the desk, folding his arms.
He tapped the ring on his finger against the wall, eyeing the one that Balthier had. "Has he? And I wish I'd killed him sooner."
"He just told me... what your relationship was a while ago. And I wish you'd killed him sooner, too." He ran his thumb over Squall's ring, knowing Seifer was eyeing it.
He did the same thing moments later, lifting his gaze again to the other male’s face. "What relationship? We failed horribly. But the sex was amazing." He chuckled then.
"I'm sure it was, Squall is an amazing man." He smirked, obviously revelling in the fact that his position with Squall was considerably better than Seifer's. "You failed horribly, you say? What was so difficult?"
"I'm...Difficult. Not romantic, not as loving as I should have been. Whenever there was a problem the fix was sex." He chuckled; looking at what he assumed was Squall’s bed.
Balthier smiled slightly. "We're all like that sometimes. Men are men, after all." He stood up properly and looked at the bottom bunk. It was a bit of a mess. He pulled the blankets off and two pairs of boxers fell to the floor, his own and Squall's. He tossed the blankets up to the top bunk, which was rarely used.
Seifer frowned slightly then and looked away, forcing a yawn. "Tell princess I came by. I'm headed back to my cell."
He raised an eyebrow. "Well, aren't you certainly the type to run?" He chuckled slightly, picking up the underwear and tossing it to a small pile needed to be washed. "I'll let Romeo know you stopped by." He said, using his own pet-name for Squall.
"I still love him. It's had to see how content he's been without me. I'm glad he's happy but I'd rather it was with me."
"If you were both so in love, it would have worked out. Things change. He's happy with me, so I suggest you don't get involved." It wasn't even slightly threatening, mostly just calm and rational as he remade the bed.
"That's why I'm leaving. If I do anything he'll be mad at me." Seifer rolled those emerald hues. Straightening out and plucking the finger of his ring, tossing it onto the bunk. "Later."
Balthier picked it up and looked at it, catching hold of Seifer's arm, completely disregarding his words. "This. Why're you leaving it?"
"It wasn't mine, Rinoa gave it to me, I'm sure it was meant for Squall."
"Then you should give it to him, not me. I never met the woman. And for how she hurt him, I can't honestly say I have any respect for her, even if she's passed away." He held it out to Seifer.
"You share the bunk right? Who said I was giving it to you? I'm leaving it for him. if he still slept on the top one i would have put it there." He tugged his arm back and moved away. "I came with the intent of leaving that here. So I'm going to."
"I meant that I shouldn't be the one to give him the ring. And if you love him, you should have enough respect for him to give him the ring in person. Not just leave it here and tell me to give him the message." He put the ring in Seifer's hand, ran a hand through his own hair, and then moved to finish tidying the bed.
He grumbled slightly, slipping the ring back onto his finger and leaving then, scratching a finger along his scar.
