A day later, early morning Donovan sighed and walked onto the bus. He was dreading going back. But...it meant Leolin would be where he'd belong. On the outside with Addis. His face seemed more calm as he sat there and stared out the window at the world going by. "Hey Addis, You ready to have us switch?" It was way early morning when they would arrive.
Addis drapes an arm over the back of Donovan's seat as he looks out the window. "I'm ready to have you both out."
His eyes went hard as he sighed. "It's a done case, ain't it? I'm definitely gettin' an appeal?" He knew Boomer was doing everything he could. "I just will miss Meea..." He shook it off and looked towards the front of the bus. "Fuck I don't wanna go...but I don't wanna keep Leolin there."
"Oh, you're getting the appeal." He looks down at Donovan, stomach twisting from missing Leolin. "Maybe we can get your Meea an appeal too. Lawyers will do anything for money."
"You think?" His eyes grew wide. He smiled optimistic for the for the first time and stared out the window as they neared UGH. He sighed and walked like Leolin to get out of the bus and into the visitation area.
Leolin was awaken abruptly to a guard tapping on the cell door in the morning and he gasped. He didn't look up as he shuffled out and followed the guard. He wished, he wished he could say goodbye to Meea and Brian. But there was no time, it was too early. Leolin frowned and was led out into the visitation area.
"I do."
Addis stands from his chair the moment Leolin comes into the room. He crosses the floor, scooping him up into a tight hug. "You okay?"
Leolin clung to Addis and kissed him deeply. No one else was in the room but the three. RGBob let them have their alone time.
Donovan just watched for several moments. He missed his own new...special someone.
Leolin gasped and pulled away to sign to Addis. 'Meea loves Donovan.'
Addis closes his eyes as he returns that kiss. Reading Leolin's hands, his eyes widen. "Does he now? Did they take good care of you?" He pets a hand in Leolin's clean hair. "You took a bath. I'm proud of you."
Leolin's smile weakened as he nuzzled into Addis and hugged close. He nodded about the questions. He wouldn't speak about the water. It was water, it was scary.
Donovan sighed. "Hey Leolin, you wanna return now?" He wasn't in any hurry, that was for damned sure but...it was so he could see Meea again. That was the only bright side to it. He couldn't read hands.
Addis carries Leolin over by Donovan so they can all sit together. "Don't worry, Donovan. We'll get you out real soon, okay?"
Leolin hugged and latched onto his twin. "Mn..." He mewled and nuzzled into his brother. 'I left Mr. Bear for him.'
Donovan sighed once more and hugged Leolin close and rocked him. "You got all the info you need on everyone, right? You know what to spot for now? I pointed enough crap out you should."
Addis smiles softly as he watches the brothers. "Yeah, I got it." He pets a hand over the back of Leolin's head. "That was very nice of you to do." He looks to Donovan. "He left the bear for you."
Donovan chuckled and nodded. "Thank you Leolin." He whispered into the nuzzling other and hugged him closer. "I hope you got tah know everyone..."
Leolin blinked and moved back. 'I met someone like me. He seemed willing to go back to what I and he was. I don't think I liked him. He upset me...I hope he learns that it's bad. Right? Isn't it bad?' He bit his lip, he didn't know what was bad and what was good any longer after Donovan got put in prison and then he followed suit.
Addis folds his arms over his chest with a frown. "Yes. That is very bad. No one should be treated like that. To like that extent of punishment is sick."
Leolin nodded and licked Donovan's cheek and started to pull of his uniform.
Donovan sighed and did the same. "Yeah it is, I know who this is...I'm sick of hearin' about it." He frowned and switched with Leolin. "You are gonna get some good food fer once."
'Tell Meea and Brian goodbye for me! I wish I could have hugged them.'
Addis licks his lips as he watches the boys change. Well, he mostly watches Leolin. They're identical twins, but the love was different.
Donovan smiled softly. "I will, Leo, okay?"
'Don't get into a fight, Don.'
"I won't." With one final hug he gave to both of them. Their goodbyes were complete and he walked towards the door to go back to his time in the hotel. He wanted to see Meea. Donovan was led down the hallways towards the cafeteria where he sat down next to the other and kissed his cheek.
Meea turns to latch onto Donovan, whispering in his ear. "Ohmygod, Leolin, I thought you were lost." Of course he's spent all morning looking for Leolin since he wasn't in his room.
There was a whisper back. "Yeah and I magically grew a voice overnight." It was said with a devious smirk and a nip on Meea's ear.
Meea's eyes widen as he leans back to stare at Donovan with wide eyes. "You..." He doesn't say anything else. Leaning forward again, he plants a fantastic kiss on Donovan's lips.
Donovan smiled. "I...?" He didn't mind it and kissed back. His heartstrings were pulled as he gripped onto Meea and hugged tightly, not allowing the kiss to fade so quickly.
Meea gives the cat-callers the finger before wrapping his arms tightly around Donovan. "I missed you," he gasps quietly, breaking the kiss for air.
Donovan leaned in further when the release happened. He snickered at the finger and nuzzled into the larger man and gasped for air as well. "You did? I missed ya too." He whispered, leaning up for his lips.
"I did." He slides a hand up Donovan's cheek and kisses him again. "Lets go somewhere to talk, okay?"
He kisses back more than willingly. "...kay." Donovan gripped Meea's hand. They were getting whistles and wolf howls for the public displays of affection.
Meea clutches Donovan's hand tightly as he stands. "Lightening bolt! Lightening bolt! Lightening bolt!" He points to three of the loudest wolves with each curse then grins at Donovan. "Lets go to my room."
Donovan laughed. "I forgot how damn crazy you were for a few minutes." He stood as well, following to go to his cell. Gabriel wouldn't be there, he'd be in the library about this time of morning.
Meea lifts Donovan onto the top bunk before climbing up there himself. "Look what I did while you were gone." He pulls some sheets from under his pillow and attaches them to the hooks he has screwed into the ceiling. "Like it?" He pounces Donovan again, pinning him to the bed.
"Hey...hey...what're ya..." He blinked and was set down on the top bunk and looked at Meea and smiled. "Looks good...eh! Hey! Pinnin' me?" The teenager squirmed and laughed and grinned at Meea. "Hey...come on..I still gotta tell ya Leolin said goodbye!"
Meea just wants to hold Donovan close. He nuzzles into the other inmate's neck. "Your brother is really cute. But it was still really hard looking at a you that wasn't you every day."
"Really now? See? I'm the evil twin...ya understand that now?" His eyes closed and his skin grew goosebumps from the man's breath and voice. "Ngh...Meea I missed you so much. You got no idea."
"Yeah I do." Meea chuckles softly as he slides a thigh over Donovan's hip. "Did you really miss me?" He purrs in Donovan's ear. "How much?"
Oh that thigh, right there. It made Donovan groan. "32 points of charisma much?" His hips arched up to those on top of him. His green eyes bore into Meea's. "I got something ta say...."
"Only for you," he mutters softly. Meea's pretty blues stare right back as he rolls them to lay on their sides. "What's that, hm?"
Donovan hesitated when rolled. He kept staring into Meea's blue and frowned. He almost closed off and backed down. But hell...when would be a better chance. "You laugh at me, I'll kick you so hard, your ass will kiss the damn moon all right?" He wrinkled his nose and immediately softened. This was going to be a vulnerable moment. "I-I love you."
Meea searches those green eyes for any kind of trickery, staying quiet for a minute before breathing out. "I love you, too." He presses a hard, desperate kiss to Donovan's lips, holding him tighter.
"Wha..." He was surprised by that. The last bit of innocence he ever had came out when his eyes grew wide and he kissed back. Those green orbs withered closed as he kissed back with a deep devotion towards the man so close to him. His heart pounded. He was loved, for the first time ever...he was loved. Not brotherly. Not out of anything other than...pure love.
Meea slides a hand into Donovan's hair, holding the kiss until the need for air arises. "Do you think they'd notice if I switched places with Reno, just for tonight?" He whispers softly against Donovan's lips.
Donovan's eyes were clenched closed. "I-I don't think so..." His face was buried in Meea's neck. "Mn...I thought you would laugh at me..."
Meea closes his eyes as he cuddles Donovan against his chest. "Why would I do that?" He opens his eyes again, staring at the envelope under his tv.
Donovan smiled. "I dunno." His eyes opened and looked where Meea was looking. "What's...what's that?"
"Nothing important." Meea looks back at Donovan with a smile. "What did you do on your vacation?"
"Stuff..." He whispered against Meea's lips and sat up, grabbing the envelope.
Meea sits up just as quickly and tries to get the envelope from Donovan. "Don't, okay? Please give it back."
Donovan moved it away and kissed him and looked at what the title of it. He was good at playing keep away.
The front of the envelope just has Meea's name and number on it. There is no post mark because it is just from the prison offices. "Donovan, please." He continues to try to get the letter back.
"No what's this about." He was curious and started to open it, still keeping it away from Meea.
Meea reaches out one last time and misses the letter. "Damnit, Donovan, I got a date, okay!"
Donovan looked and it said 'execution'. His breath stopped, he went pale. His eyes grew wide as he looked into Meea's. "You weren't gonna tell me..."
"I was," he mutters softly, looking down at the paper. "I wanted to wait to see if the appeal went through first."
Donovan looked away and slide off the bunk. He just said something that would last a lifetime and then this. He was sick. Answering was hard to do when one's mind is wrapping around the thought of having a lover die. "Th-This ain't right. I was just about to get ahold of a lawyer..."
Meea pulls down the sheet to watch Donovan, staying up on the bunk. "There's still the appeal, right? I mean, maybe it'll go through before... that."
He couldn't look at Meea. His shoulders slumped. Donovan sat on the bunk underneath. His good mood and feelings were gone entirely. "Get ahold of my lawyer." He said the name of the man and the address. He memorized it. "Tell 'em you're associated with me...tell 'em anything. It ain't a hopeless case."
Meea slides down so he can write the information down on the pad of paper on the desk. He sets the pen down then takes a step back, sitting on the bed beside Donovan. "I only got the letter yesterday," he mutters, as if it makes everything all better.
He wouldn't cry. Fuck it...he wouldn't cry. His head bowed down towards his knees. Tears were streaming out of his eyes. He was crying.
Meea finally looks over at Donovan. His heart sinks further than it was. "Donovan," he whispers, lifting a hand to touch his shoulder.
"What day was it..." He couldn't stop sobbing.
Meea slides his hand over Donovan's shoulder to the back of his neck. "Two months."
"M-My appeal is set for that time." He was hunched over couldn't speak any longer. Why was it everything happened to him? Donovan couldn't even fathom. What else would go wrong?
"Well, see!" Donovan forces a smile and tries to sound light-hearted. "You'll get your appeal and then I'll get mine and I can take you somewhere dorky like an arcade or something."
"Meea..." He shook his head and he got to his feet. "I-I might...just...go for a bit. I need ta think." He pulled the tears from his eyes. He couldn't stand forced happiness. Donovan kept looking down at his feet as he walked towards the entrance of the cell.
Meea stands to grab Donovan by the elbow. "I'm sorry. Don't go, okay?"
Donovan sobbed. "Why...why is it...everytime I start to think everything will be okay...it never is?"
Meea wraps his arms around Donovan, hugging him from behind. "It will be okay. I can write more letters and bug them to work faster."
"I-I don't know anymore." He looked out at the prison hallways.
"Don't give up," he pleads, pressing his lips to Donovan's shoulder. "There's still hope."
"Hope..." He looked at his feet and closed his eyes and nodded. "Hopefully." He muttered and turned around to bury his face in Meea's neck.
Meea smiles sadly as he holds Donovan tightly. "Yeah..." He looks up at the ceiling and, for the first time since his sentencing, tears fall.
Donovan felt the tears and hugged him closer. "I do..and will always love ya."
Meea lowers his chin to kiss Donovan's temple. "Love you too," he whispers.
Donovan tried to smile and hugged him tighter. "I think I gotta go check out where ya pick up mail...Wanna come?"
"Yeah, okay. I know where it is."
He moved fingers over his cheeks. It could be said that his hands were calloused. "C'mon then..." Donovan pulled on his hand and kissed his lips.
Meea keeps Donovan's hand held tight in his own. "Hey. Don't tell anybody about... you know. Okay?"
Donovan didn't say a word and just squeezed his hand tighter. He tried to hide the pain of losing someone so dear. Walking and holding him as tight as he could by the hand, the teen came to a conclusion. He would assume die than lose the only person he'd love like that. End of story.
Meea puts on his best smile as people pass. Everything is fine. Just fine, he lies to himself as the round the corner to the mail room.
Random Inmate Betty is sitting behind the desk, legs crossed, and filing his nails. "Meea! Oh, Meea, I've missed you so much! Bruno just can't brush my hair like you do!" He smiles brightly to Donovan. "And you brought your cute friend too. Hi sweetie." He wriggles a couple fingers at the younger of the pair.
Donovan noticed the fake smile and kissed the corner of it and still couldn't speak. "Any...mail for me, Betty?" His voice tried to sound like nothing was wrong...and he failed miserably.
Meea gives Donovan a tiny, real smile as he leans heavily on him.
Betty turns to the "L" bin and sifts through the letters and packages. "Oh! Yes there is one here!" He pulls it out and saunters back over to the pair with a hand on his hip. "You two look like you need another movie date." He thwaps the letter against Donovan's shoulder, giving him the sternest look a feminine man could ever give someone. "I hope you're being nice to my Meea."
"Best I can..." He takes the letter, eyes closing. He hated trying to mask everything anymore. He's done it so long that it...started to snap back on him. The teen hugged Meea close. "We'll see ya around, Betty." His voice was very weak at the moment as he turned to leave, still gripping Meea like he'll fade.
Meea nudges Betty's chin up with a bent finger. "He's real good to me, Betty. Don't worry. I'll come tell you first if he isn't."
Betty lifts his chin with a pout. "You better not have to!" He blows them both a kiss then goes back to the filing of his nails.
Donovan let go as they talked and opened the letter once out the door. His eyes grew wide...the appeal? Next week? New information? Testimonials from his sibling? Great. Just great. He leaned against the wall and slide down it. "Why is it everything I assume touch either dies or is ruined?" His brother made a dog, Meea, what was next...Addis getting shot?
Meea turns back to Donovan just in time to see him slide to the floor. "Donovan? What's the matter?" He kneels down beside him, trying to read the letter.
"I'm gettin' out of here soon." He was quiet about it, he didn't even look up.
Meea falls to his hip and leans against Donovan. "Well that's great! You'll get out and soon I'll get my letter just like that one."
Donovan just looked at the court order and wouldn't say a word. He was staring at it. There was a tear down the teen's cheek.
Meea reaches over to wipe that tear away. "Hey man. It'll be alright. I'll get my letter. You'll see."
Donovan nuzzled into Meea and wouldn't even speak as he hugged him. It was a nightmare. "I'll visit..."
Meea wraps his arms around Donovan to hold him close. "I'll be out before you even get a chance to."
He sniffled. "God I feel like such a girly bitch..." He tried to laugh and cried, clinging to Meea. "I don't wanna add you to the faces of the people I saw are now dead. I don't wanna do it."
"You're not and you won't." Meea nips Donovan's bottom lip between his own. "Come on. Lets go back to my cell, okay?"
Donovan just held on tight. "You....You don' understand...those faces. I saw their faces before I shot 'em...I don't wanna think of you like that. Don't die, please?"
Meea gently pets down Donovan's back. "You don't have to. I'm gonna get my letter, remember? There's that lawyer you gave me. He'll fix it for sure."
He nodded and got to his feet. Donovan wiped his eyes clean and started walking. It was...a disappointing day all around.
