Who: Jay, Thakory
When: Daytime
Where: Tattoo Shop
What: Talking
Rating: PG
Jay made his way to the small tattoo shop. Tattoos and body art of any kind had always intrigued him. He poked his head through the doorway and glanced around. After a few moments he stepped in, looking at the various artwork on the walls.
The artwork on the walls were drawings and sketches of various kinds, as well as many different artsy photographs both colour and black and white a like. Thakory came out from under his drawing desk, a pencil in hand as he used a chair to help him back up onto his feet.
Jay turned at the sudden sound. "Sorry. Didn't realize anyone was here. You run the place?"
"Yep." Thakory said as he laid the pencil down on the desk. It rolled and almost went under the desk again, but Thakory caught it and stuck it behind a sketchbook.
Jay turned his attention back to the art on the walls. "Did you design all of these? They're really good." He pulled a packet of cigarettes from his pocket, half pulling one out. "Is it okay to smoke in here?"
Thakory nodded, "thanks. And I'd rather you didn't, the equipment’s too expensive. I don't want it to get smoke damaged."
Jay nodded. "Understood." He pushed the packet back into his pocket. "So, you only ink your own designs, or can you ink any design?"
"I can ink pretty much whatever is given to me."
"Yeah? That's pretty cool - my cellmate... my... partner, he's a really good artist - you guys should work together sometime."
"Does he tattoo?"
"Well no, but he could make some awesome designs and I'm pretty sure he's into body art since he has the hottest tattoo."
"Hmmm," Thakory frowned with thought, "You think he'd be willing to learn?"
"I could ask him. It'd give him something to do, and he'd be able to put his art skills to use."
"I wouldn't mind having an extra set of hands around either."
"I warn you, he's not the most warm person, but he's a good guy. I like him anyway." He looked at the artwork some more. "What kinda prices these running at?"
"The tattoos or the artwork?"
"Both."
"Depends on the tattoo and the art's not for sale."
Jay pointed at a design. "What sort of price would that be?"
Thakory looked it over, "Three hundred."
Jay pointed to another. "And that one?"
"Two fifty."
"A lot of money involved. But I'm certainly interested. I'll find a design I like then come back to you. Do you do piercings too?"
"I do, but in this place, there's certain piercings I won't do."
"Nothing extreme. Just a simple nipple ring."
"I can do that if you lik----- HOLY SHIT!!!" Thakory's eyes went wide and he ran from the room in less than a second. It appeared something in the room had just scared the crap out of him.
Jay looked around, trying to see what had spooked the guy. He frowned, deciding to follow him. "Hey Kid, what was that all about?"
"Is it gone?" Thakory's weak voice came, as he peered around the doorframe.
"Is what gone?" Jay asked, watching Thakory closely.
Thakory whined and pointed in the general direction of the floor, "The spider." His weak voice came again.
Jay rose an eyebrow. "A spider? You nearly gave me a heart attack over a spider??"
Thakory whined again.
Jay sighed and checked the floor. "All clear."
Thakory peeked around the doorframe again and his eyes searched. He sighed and stepped back into the room cautiously.
Jay chuckled soft. "I wouldn't have had you down as the type to fear tiny little spiders."
"It was not a tiny spider," Thakory protested, "It was huge and hairy."
Jay chuckled again. "Still tiny compared to you."
Thakory glare half-heartedly at Jay. People always made fun of his fear, even his friends.
"If I see it again, I'll stomp on it for you, okay?"
Thakory nodded, "Sounds like a plan."
"So, about my nipple?"
