Thakory locked up his shop and went to Sen's cell, "Sen?" He looked confused; "Here's a question for you. Why are a bunch of guys coming up to me and calling me Shut Call and asking what the next move should be?"

Sen was sat on the bottom bunk, he had been reading until Thakory came in. He lowered the book at looked over at Thakory. "You beat Sword. That makes you top dog. You're the new Shut Call..."

Thakory's eyes went wide, "What? No. I was just defending myself. I really have no desire to be 'top dog'."

Sen gave a dry chuckle. "These guys look for the strongest guy and follow him like sheep. You're that guy, right now."

"What about that little redhead guy. He seems tough they should follow him."

"So tell them." Sen shifted to lay down. "They're following your orders now."

"Right," Thakory nodded, "Okay," He turned to leave.

"Being Shut Call isn't such a bad thing you know? You can get pretty much anything you want. People respect you."

"Respect how?"

"They don't give you shit... well, apart fro those who want to be better than you, but those ones get sorted by 'your' men. People will do pretty much anything to stay on a Shut Call's good side."

Thakory frowned in thought, "Maybe I need to rethink it."

Sen gave a nod. "Yeah. It's a power you shouldn't just throw away." He frowned a little, hugging the pillow to his chest.

Thakory stepped into the cell a little more, "What's wrong?"

Sen shook his head. "It's nothing..."

"Well, it has to be something if it's bothering you."

"It's just... seeing him like that..." He shifted uneasily, gripping the pillow tighter.

Thakory sat down beside him and rubbed his shoulder, "I know. I'm sorry."

Sen frowned and shook his head. "Don't be. It's my fault. I'm the one that dragged you into this in the first place."

"Technically, it's his fault. He didn't have to react the way he did, but he did."

"I just don't get him and his double standards. If he can see other people, then why can't I? I don't want to be some object he picks up when needed and casts aside when he doesn't need me. I hate it."

"Then why do you allow him to treat you like that?"

"Because every time I try and walk away... I can't."

"Yes, you can. You just don't want to hurt," He shrugged, "Which is perfectly normal. But think about this? Would you rather stay with him and be miserable for the rest of your life? Or Would you rather walk away hurt for a few weeks, maybe a few months and then try to find something that really makes you happy after?"

Sen frowned, hugging the pillow tighter. "What if I walk away and then realise that he is the thing that makes me happiest?"

"I'm sure you'll find that he's not. No one deserves to be that miserable."

"It's not always bad. Sometimes he makes me eel so alive, and like nothing else in the entire world matters... Then other times... He makes me feel worthless."

"Well, you need to find someone who makes you feel a live all the time."

Sen let out a heavy sigh. "What if they don't exist?"

Thakory sighed as well, "Well, you're never going to find them with that attitude."

"Sorry. It's just... Thinking of a life without Sword... it's strange."

Thakory nodded, "At first it might be. But you'll adapt and then wonder why you ever stayed with him in the first place."

"And what about him? Who'll keep him out of trouble and be there to pick up the pieces when he screws up?"

Thakory shrugged, "That's his problem to solve, isn't it?"

"Why are you so concerned for my happiness?" Sen asked, tilting his head. "It's my fault he attacked you in the first place."

"Because I like to see people happy."

Sen gave a soft laugh. "I am happy..."

"No, you're not."

Sen clung to the pillow, inhaling softly. "I'm mostly happy. Besides, I'm a criminal. I don't deserve happiness."

"Everyone deserves happiness."

"Even murderers?" Sen asked, resting his chin on the pillow.

"I'm a murderer and I think I deserve to be happy.'

"...Maybe you're right. But I don't think I can make any decisions until I know if he's going to be alright..."
